Rocky Ford Honeydew
Sweet & “Dew-licious”
The sweetest of the melons, Honeydew can be delectable with its pale green flesh when eaten at the peak of its ripeness. Cantaloupe and honeydew are cousins. Honeydew is the American conventional name for the white antibes, a variety of melon that was cultivated in southern France and Algeria centuries ago.
…and Nutritious too
Honeydew’s high water content – 90 percent of its weight is water – combined with the amount of potassium comparable to that found in an average-sized banana, make honeydew helpful in maintaining healthy blood pressure levels. Honeydew provides several key nutrients that are particularly helpful for healthy skin, too. For example, both vitamin C and copper are necessary for collagen production and tissue repair.
